Many thanks to Roger Mills for presenting a very thought-provoking insight into stress management

Thursday, September 29, 2011

From time to time at Professional Networking we invite guest speakers to our meetings if we feel there is a particular relevance their expertise has to our members. This week Roger Mills kindly presented a very thought-provoking insight into stress management. Roger is an experienced psychotherapist and uses highly effective psychological techniques like CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to help businesses tackle core issues such as stress, wellbeing and sickness absence.

One of the most fascinating areas Roger covered was the ‘stress cycle’ that we are all prone to and he explained how we can begin to change the way we manage the ‘stressors’ which effectively disrupt our positive thinking and ultimately hinder our productivity. I’m certain that I speak for everyone present at the meeting when I say that it was a really valuable presentation and I trust that anyone interested to find out more will contact Roger: www.rmbusinesspsychology.com

In addition to the presentation we had a very upbeat meeting - chaired, as usual by Anthony Smith from Humphrey & Co. Maxine Reid from Reeves ‘controlled’ the member’s individual presentations in her inimitable style, plus we were very pleased to welcome 2 guests, Dr Alison Grimston and Kevin Highley from Terra Firma.

Really looking forward to our next meeting on Wednesday 12th October
