Last week's meeting was really upbeat and it was great to welcome our newest member, Debbie Silvester from Eckington HR... www.eckingtonhr.co.uk
We also had a 15 minute presentation by one of our members, Rohini Allen from Carlton Property Management. Rohini explained the complexities of her work, together with giving an overview of the raft of legal and technical knowledge they need to know in order to run the business.
What was particularly apparent is the concern they have that property management has a tendency to suffer from ‘less than favourable’ press. So, they ensure complete transparency at all times which clearly works for them. A very interesting point was made that with professional and ethical management, landlords not only benefit from a good relationship with their residents but the property as a whole keeps its value for the future.
Uniquely, Carlton Property Management operate an online service where residents and managers log in to view the progress of maintenance and any news affecting their property. Therefore, when residents feel they are getting value for money and are kept informed they are content to keep up regular payments; which in turn means that maintenance is never delayed.
