2012 heralded a new Chair in the form of Nigel. Let us all hope that he does half as good a job as Anthony, who was presented with a ‘thank you’ bottle of Shampoo from Steve.
The one-minute round went smoothly with the able assistance of Maxine and Martin. Gavin promoted his comedy night on 28th Jan, Lisa is excited [and nervous] about taking on their first employee, Matt went into the ‘Christmas’ past, Maxine has had her first appointment as a Liquidator [sounds nasty!] and David is about to celebrate 40 years in insurance [so, David, now ‘life begins’]. Oh, and thanks to our only guest, Debbie, who informed us about the goings-on in the employment world e.g. the extra bank holiday and automatic pensions enrolment.
The open discussion was very useful with all members chipping in. The future is looking bright, not necessarily orange, and the members left [hopefully] with a positive attitude looking ahead to 2012.
The Chair will hopefully have many more meetings to look forward to!
