STIMULATING INCREASED BUSINESS
The founder members of Professional Networking identified a need for a business networking group that would put together the most valuable elements of business networking in a format that would be informal and relaxed, and guided by clear business goals to stimulate increased business.
At the end of 2008, the Group formed, and it started meeting in Upper Dicker. Its blend of informality, underpinned by the structure of a formal agenda, quickly proved very effective. Quality business referrals are flowing between members and visitors, and members are experiencing increased business as a result.
Our group has seen great success in attracting new members. We have increased our membership to its current size of 21, with an average of 4 visitors attending each meeting, and so we had to move to a larger venue, in Lower Dicker at the end of Summer 2009.
Our format works. We get regular comments from visitors and new members that the format is welcoming, and that the members are friendly and supportive. If you would like to be part of our success, please contact us. We want to hear from you.
Our Group holds its networking meetings fortnightly on Wednesdays at lunchtime in Lower Dicker, East Sussex.
After half an hour of open business networking, we sit down for a buffet lunch. During lunch, we follow an agenda, which gives time to members and visitors to introduce themselves and their businesses and the type of business referral they like to receive. We discuss business referrals in open forum and in confidence, topical issues, hear new ideas, listen to our colleagues' needs and concerns, and have the opportunity to present our own business to the group.
Each stage is structured to provide the time and to last no more than 2 hours. Members regularly stay on for further informal conversations, with each other.
